More photos from the shoot and fundraising

Sarah Julianne, our onsite photographer, has some photos from the shoot on her website, SarahJulianne.com

We are currently in the editing stages of the film. Unfortunately we have to reshoot two scenes for continuity purposes. We’ve done a draft schedule and budget, and have worked out that we need to raise $1200 in order to reshoot. We will also have to find a new DOP for the day, as our DOP Philipp is returning to Germany soon (best of luck, Philipp).

We’ve got our wrap drinks next week with the cast and crew. It’ll be good to catch up and we’re looking forward to thanking the team for their hard work.

Please check back here for more on the upcoming fundraising.

It’s a wrap on principal photography

We’ve had a fantastic 3 days of shooting. Thank you to all of those who were involved. It’s been a crazy week. We’ve got a couple more cutaways to shoot on Sunday, and then it’s editing time.

Lee, the writer, came on set on Sunday. He was blown away by the crew on set, all together because of his story.

Keep an eye here for behind-the-scenes photos by Sarah Julianne. We’ll be posting links or the photos themselves here.

Thank you again.

And so it begins

I thought I’d write a quick update whilst waiting for tomorrow’s afternoon tea to bake. Shooting starts tomorrow (26 April 2011). Production Manager Beckie Lockhart and I have spent today preparing food for 26 cast and crew. Last minute rehearsals with our new Peter were run today. Everyone has been working really hard to get to this point. We look forward to working with you all on the day.

One week to shooting

It’s all go. We’re all exceptionally busy leading up to principal photography next week. We’ve finalised all but 2 members of our crew. We’re doing final schedules and call sheets, booking the last bits of gear, collecting items for the Art Department, all in preparation for tomorrow: our final Production Meeting before shooting starts.

We were contacted by Josie at crewbooking.co.nz and asked about our production for their e-newsletter, which went out today. If you’ve read about our production from the Crew Booking website, welcome. Please have a look at our Cast and Crew page, which we’re updating with blurbs now.

Keep an eye here for information on the shoot and how it went. We’ll even get some photos up.

It’s been a long road to get to this point. On behalf of David, Lee, and myself, who have been making this film for over 2 years now, thank you to the crew and cast. We look forward to working with you on set next week.

Less than two weeks to shooting

Principal photography is happening in less than two weeks. Our Art Department are running round next week picking up props; rehearsals with the actors have finished; and a dress is being made for our lead actress.
We’ve found a replacement 1st AD, and have confirmed our Unit Manager.
We are currently looking for a runner for 26 April. We’re after an enthusiastic and vibrant person to join us for one day. will have their own vehicle and a full drivers licence. Transport will be reimbursed and food provided, but otherwise the role is, unfortunately, unpaid.
Applicants should email makethelake(at)gmail.com with their CV and a brief introduction.
Thanks,
Patricia Hetherington
Producer

Casting Call – update

Hi all,

We have been asked to clarify a couple of things in relation to the casting call.

Where we have requested a CV from actors, we only require a brief filmography, if available. No applicant will be jeopardised for not submitting a CV.

Further information on the lead characters as follows:

  • Peter: a salesman, in his late 30s to mid 50s.
  • Carlie: Peter’s first wife, in her late 20s to mid 30s
  • Jane: Peter’s second wife, in her mid 30s to mid 50s

Thank you for your understanding, and apologies for any confusion caused. Thank you to all those who have applied so far.
